Looking at bush in 2000, it wasn’t too hard to see that he was unfit, incompetent, unqualified to be presidenct. He couldn’t even name the leaders of Pakistan, North Korea, and Taiwan. To the cons, however, that didn’t matter. As long as he surrounded himself with the right people, they argued, then “competence didn’t matter”. What mattered to them was whether he was someone they would like to have a beer with at a backyard BBQ. Eight disastrous years of bush later, they are eating their own words.

Today, we’re hearing the republicans repeat same disturbing argument again, but this time with Palin. Like bush, she’s all image and no substance, and they reacting to her carefully crafted image of hockeymom, church lady, and beauty queen, rather than rationally evaluating her qualifications.

How can cons not see that Palin is woefully unqualified for the job that puts her one breath away from the Presidency? Have they not learned their lesson with bush?
