The plummetting US dollar is being mocked worldwide as “the bush peso”. We all know bush represents a tremendous step backwards for America. That much goes without saying. But unlike Nixon who brought humiliation only to the GOP, the younger bush has brought humiliation to all of America.

Is the decline of the US dollar a sign of America losing its superpower status? How severe is the wound that the republicans have inflicted upon the United States? Have the folly of the neocons cost America its place in this world? Is America staring down history as a former superpower as the direct consequence of bush’s actions?
